A short statement from Goulding (1979)
Discounting is a transaction like any other interpersonal situation. The discount involves both the discounter and the discountee.
This is an invitation to think about one's reaction to tentative discounts. How do we let ourselves discounted by others ? How do we validate the discount by denial, submission, overadaptation, etc... or how do we stop it by humour, appropriate anger, internal transaction, quiet silence, etc ....
